SUMMER ACTING INTENSIVE FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

A challenging theatre arts program, which stimulates the student's imagination and excites their passion for training. Course includes acting techniques, movement, voice, speech and scene study with a final showcase performance on July 21 at 7:00pm!

Students work THREE hours a day, THREE days a week for FOUR weeks with theatre director and Citrus adjunct professor, Kevin Slay.

Kevin Slay is a freelance professional director and adjunct theatre professor who has worked all over the Inland Empire and Orange County with credits including Pirates of Penzance, Oklahoma, The Music Man, Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat, for which he won an Inland Valley Theatre League award for best direction. Other recent directorial credits include Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, Some Girls, Night of the Iguana, Rumors, The Man of Lamancha, the Crucible and Shakespeare's, A Mid Summer Nights Dream, Trojan Woman, The Man Who Came To Dinner, The Last Days Of Judas Iscariot, The Crowd Your In With and As You Like It which was one of six productions selected to perform for the American College Theatre Festival's region VIII event in 2008. Kevin was selected as a national winner in Theatre Direction from the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. Kevin holds a Masters of Fine Arts in Theatre Direction degree from California State University, Fullerton and is an adjunct college professor at California State University, Fullerton, Concordia University, Cypress Community College and Cerritos Community College and Chapman University where he teaches acting, directing, text analysis and Stage Management.

This is an intensive and rigorous program that is fast and affordable. Join us and experience the quality of theatre training available at Citrus College!

(Grades 9-12) Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm;
12 sessions starting June 28, 2011, ending July 21, 2011.

Showcase performance on July 21 at 7pm!
