Rhapsody In Rhythm

In the Spring of 2011, Vonetta Mixson was invited to lend her talent, style and leadership to the Citrus College Women's Ensemble (WE). Founded by Douglas Austin (Shrope) in 1989, his legacy of great music showcased by the talented ladies of the Fine & Performing Arts Department continues. After her time as a Citrus Singer, Vonetta embarked on a professional career in entertainment that has span the past 16 years. In the midst of her travels and performances, she completed her BA at California Baptist University and her MBA at the University of Phoenix. Mrs. Mixson has been instrumental in shaping some of the best voices in our performing ensembles. She sets high standards that challenge students to strive for excellence.

Annually, WE perform in two titled shows, Christmas Is…(Fall) and their Pop Show (Spring). In addition our 1st Winter Showcase featuring WE and students of Ms. V will take place. WE hit the road in December for caroling. These performances take us everywhere from prestigious Southern California Country Clubs to holiday gatherings right here in Glendora. This year's Pop Show will be nothing less than fabulous as the ladies present Listen to the Music. Each year we rotate between songs ranging from Broadway musicals to those sung by your favorite artist on the radio. WE showcase our versatile vocal style and mix it up with show-stopping choreography!

At the end of the school year we have the privilege of performing on an annual Summer tour. WE has traveled to places such as: San Diego, Palm Springs, the Mexican Riviera and the Bahamas. WE members build relationships and make memories that last a lifetime and shines through their vibrant performances. These lovely ladies are unforgettable and make a great addition to your event.
