POP/LATIN ENSEMBLES
Both Orquesta Sazón and Los Cumbiamberos utilize the following
instrumentation: Vocalists (female and male), Trumpets, Alto Saxophone,
Tenor Saxophone, Trombones, Guitar, Piano, Bass, Drums, Congas,
Timbales, Bongos, Guiro, and auxiliary percussion.
Orquesta Sazón
This Pop/Latin ensemble focuses on the performance of contemporary
“Salsa,” which encompasses a group of styles developed
predominantly in Cuba and other Caribbean and South American countries.
Orquesta Sazón studies and performs the music of Mark Anthony,
La India, Celia Cruz, Gilberto Santarosa, Los Vanvan, and many others.
Orquesta Sazón performs at on-campus venues and provides
professional level entertainment at community and regional events.
Los Cumbiamberos
This ensemble performs another group of very popular musical styles,
which have come to us from Central America. Los Cumbiamberos prepares
and presents the music of Carlos Vives, Los Tigres del Norte, Banda
Limite, El Coyote, Joan Sebastian, Banda el Recodo, Los Tucanes,
Selena, Cumbia Kings and many others.
