A large component of the ensemble’s success is the professional environment in which it frequently functions. The Blue Note Swing Orchestra is contracted to perform in many varied experiences ranging from corporate parties, dances, backing up major artists and recordings including the legendary Count Basie arranger and composer Sam Nestico. Material that the group studies and performs ranges broadly from classic to contemporary.

Fundamentals and attention to detail including musical style, phrasing, intonation to the attire and image of the ensemble are highly stressed.

Students from the Blue Note Swing Orchestra have gone on to perform with or on Broadway, The Glenn Miller Orchestra, No Doubt, Green Day, The Offspring, Gwen Stefani, Las Vegas, Carnival Cruise Lines, Branson Missouri, Japan, as well as other artist/venues and areas of the entertainment industry, as well as receiving scholarships and graduating from local and major universities.
