| Applied Music / Individual
Instruction
Among the advantages of participating in Citrus music programs
is the opportunity to receive weekly individual lessons through
the Applied Music Program. This program is designed to give students
the opportunity for private instruction by skilled professional
artists in their specific musical discipline. Students enrolled
in performance or technique groups have access
to one weekly half-hour lesson throughout the semester. Additionally,
program participants are required to attend a concert hour each
week where students have the opportunity to showcase their new skills.
Instructor quality is paramount to the success of the program.
Current instructors hold degrees from such notable institutions
as Boston Conservatory of Music, Indiana University and Julliard
School of Music, include winners of the Eisteddfod International
Piano Competition in Wales and finalists in the Metropolitan Opera
competition. Many instructors maintain their professional careers
appearing with artists like Willie Nelson, Natalie Cole, Placido
Domingo, Gwen Stefani and Julie Andrews.
