YOU CAN ACHIEVE THE PURE ENJOYMENT
OF DANCE AT CITRUS COLLEGE
Dance at Citrus prepares you for many career opportunities in the
world of dance. We offer you classes in jazz dance, classical ballet,
tap dance, and modern dance.
Several class levels are offered from beginning up to the experienced
dancer. Specialty classes are offered in dance history, Pilates,
improvisation/choreography, and student choreography.

Students can seek to transfer to a four-year college and/or seek
one of the following dance careers: professional dancer, dance educator,
studio instructor, dance company director, choreographer, or dance
researcher, critic, or therapist.

COMMERCIAL
DANCE CERTIFICATE
A commercial dance certificate, the only one of its kind in the
region, is also offered here at Citrus Dance. A unique combination
of required classes and electives within the certificate allows
students to tailor this program to their individual needs.

BEAUTIFUL
DANCE STUDIO
All classes are held in a state-of-the-art 40'X60' studio which
over looks the San Gabriel mountains. The air-conditioned studio
is equipped with a professional sprung floor, full-length mirrors,
ballet barres, and a fabulous sound/video system.

PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES
Performance opportunities abound at the Citrus College Dance Program.
Highlights include the Citrus Dance Company Fall and Spring Concerts
that perform in the Little Theatre. Students work with guest choreographers
in addition to the Citrus faculty.

The Citrus dancers also perform on the Haugh Performing Arts stage
in the Christmas Is and Spring Pop Show, and the Sounds,
Shapes, and Shades music department concerts.

The Citrus Touring Company perform at numerous local venues to
the delight of all ages.

The American College Dance Festival
Association is the largest college dance conference in America.
Our dance students at Citrus have an opportunity to attend master
classes and perform at this event. The dancers are judged on performance
and choreography in front of their peers and a professional adjudication
dance panel. The members of the Citrus Dance Company will perform
at the Spring ‘06 conference at California
State University, Sacramento. They will perform a dance entitled
High Flight.

The Citrus Dance Program is directed by two full-time instructors,
Diane Woodward and John
Vaughan. Adjunct faculty in addition to the directors are extremely
accomplished in the dance field. All hold advanced degrees in dance
or musical theatre and have performed in the professional dance
world, including Broadway and Hollywood.
