The Citrus College Art Department offers three major areas of emphasis
– Studio/fine art, Graphic Design and Art History.
The Art Department offers a creative learning environment where
you can explore and develop the skills and knowledge you need.
Faculty expertise is broad, offering you a well-rounded art education
in theory, practice and history. The faculty include leading authorities
in their fields, featured exhibitors and freelance professionals.
Many have traveled extensively to help make their curriculumn come
alive in the classroom.
To be successful in the field of art, you will need a strong portfolio
in addition to basic art classes. Citrus classes will help you develop
your portfolio in preparing for employment as a grahic artist, advertising
designer or ceramic artist. Other employment opportunities include
children’s book illustrator, desktop publishing artist, sales
representative, interior designer, art instructor, comic strip artist,
technical illustrator, gallery director, police artist, web page
designer and more.
